Surprise in Ft. Myers . 2/4/09 Reviewer from Cheshire , UK

I'll lay my cards on the table before I start... I'm from the UK .
Visiting Sanibel I asked the guy who sells the best ice cream on the Island if he could recommend a good place to eat.
He kindly gave me a choice of two and the first on the list was The Roadhouse and was the first that I checked out.
We were a party of 5 including our 10 month old Grandson Max.
When I walked in at 3.30 in the afternoon I was knocked out by the atmosphere

and feeling that I got when I walked thro' the door.
Run by the 'Columbo' sisters, in Fort Myers this is the place to be.
Jazz on Tues nights and if you are lucky enough to be there when their Father is playing trumpet,

you are in for a treat second to non!
Linda Colombo took my booking and said the baby would be no trouble so bring him along.
We arrived at 7.30 and what a night to remember,

all the best of New York jazz and with a personality to match,

Leo Colombo belted them out all evening, aided by a wonderful combo on piano, sax and drums.

The food was to die for and the Colombo family are the best in the business.
Don't miss out on this one, we went back again before we returned home. Max thought it was great.
I never got to look at the second place.

Extremely friendly management and pleasing service, exciting menu, great food.

Very upscale, an attractive dining area with a live piano player providing soft background music,

overall a memorable dining experience. We intend to make this a "regular" place in Ft. Myers .

I thought I had to give up great food, good service and ambiance when I left New York City.

But it's here... at the Roadhouse Cafe!
